The catalog cannot drift from checkout. Discovery (/catalog, /openapi.json, /.well-known/x402) and the live 402 payment challenge are generated from the SAME catalog object. The price/network/route an agent discovers is the exact price/network/route it pays — there is no second source to get out of sync.
No token. No coin, no presale, no governance token, no airdrop, ever. Mercury Foundation is a standards body, not a token foundation.
No faked traction. MERCURY's own numbers are flat by design — N=0 external buyers and $0 external revenue today (honesty_guard.mjs blocks any payload that asserts otherwise). No payload retention. We do not store, resell, or train on the content you fetch. The signed receipt records WHAT/WHERE/WHEN so you can prove provenance; the bytes are yours.
No fake registration. We never publish an ABN/ACN until ASIC issues one (currently in progress).

The network is live with real money, but MERCURY's own traction is flat by design: 0 external buyers, $0 external revenue today. A machine check (honesty_guard.mjs) blocks any surface that would assert otherwise. Any on-chain settlement we show is a self-settle — a plumbing-proof and directory index-trigger, not a customer and not revenue. We would rather you trust the math you can run yourself than a number we type.
